About Clint Chase Boatbuilder

Clint Chase Boatbuilding specializes in building and design of Wooden and Composite small craft up to 22’. A passionate rower/sailor, Clint graduated from The Landing School’s year-long Cruising Boats Program in 2006 after four years as a high school science teacher and living aboard a boat in the summers. Clint taught at the Compass Project for 4 years as Program Manager/Head Boatbuilder, where he initiated new programs, including one designed to get high school kids engaged with opportunities in the composites and marine industries. While teaching, Clint learned small boat design, perfected wood-composite construction techniques and has recently started a new line of wood-composite oars. He now sells boat plans and kits for favored designs, including his own designs, like Drake (pictured), available for shipment anywhere in the country. Repair and refinishing of plywood, wood-composite, and composite boats is his repair specialty including interior joinery for yachts. Clint continues to deliver boatbuilding programs in schools such as The Friends School of Portland and as an instructor at the Wooden Boat School.
